Chapter 10 - Poppy - Stained Glass Revelations

Chapter 10 - Poppy - Stained Glass Revelations

Interesting developments have happened in our story.  Both Noah and Hailey have been implicated in the money laundering investigation at church.  Mike Rogers (aka James) finds out today that Noah is working with the FBI under the name Rand Carmichael.  Together he and Hailey have infiltrated the money laundering ring.  Hailey has been cozying up to Nick Ransom since she knows him from back in her police academy days.

Hailey is moonlighting for the internal investigations unit which Rand heads. It is usually out of DC but Rand moved his operation here since it was such a long term op.  Plus he had no idea how closely the bad element had impacted him personally.

The dinner between Faith and James proved one thing to them both.  They were completely in love with their significant other no matter what the evidence proved. You just don't fall out of love due to one allegation of wrongdoing. They both decided to be there for each other as friends and support each other during this troubling time.

They didn't really talk about the King Arthur issue. Due to their other pressing concerns that conversation was put on the back burner.

When they were finishing up their dinner, James received a call from Detective Danny which he had to follow up on.  He left Faith at the church where her car was.  She stood in front of the large stained glass circle that always seemed to have an ethereal glow and reflected on Noah. She was wishing she could get more into his head to see what he was thinking. But her third eye was blocked and she wondered if it would ever work correctly. Right now she relied on her knowing and her cards to tell her the truths she needed.

The stained glass in front of her seemed to shimmer and the image of the woman named Roanna appeared before her as if she were looking through a window.

"Hello Faith," Roanna said.

Faith was guarded by her sudden appearance. "What is going on?"

"I need to relay some truths to you." The window reminded her of the magic mirror of fairytales. So fascinating.

"You were told Noah wasn't King Arthur. So was he. God did this for a purpose.  Noah wasn't as invested in you as he should have been. The loss of losing you as a soulmate should propel him forward."

"What are you saying? Noah really is King Arthur?"

"He is," Roanna replied. "The first time around your love story was lost to time.  Gwen and Lancelot stole your story and wrote their own. Then they put you and all the protectors of the realm knights on the shelf of history."

The stained glad shimmered again. Roanna said it was the Golden Fleece from one of Jason's quests. Jason and King Arthur were the same person, she revealed. Faith was having a hard time wrapping her mind around it all.

"The protectors of the realm, you call them angels, must rise and help humanity again. We have done what we could with the few left. This story is going to release a majority of them from their slumber. Truth tends to do that, especially God's truth."

"Lancelot and Gwen." Faith was dumbfounded by all of this.

"You know them as Nick Random and Kara Stone."

Faith's eyes widened.  You're kidding."

"No joking. That is why I'm here. Merlin and I decided to protect you by giving you your Merlin powers early. You're going to need them."

Roanna raised her hands and an energy burst came through the stained glass enveloping Faith and transforming her. She laughed. "That never gets old."

Faith fingered her new red hooded cloak. It reminded her of Red Riding Hood. Around her waist was a belt of unusual gadgets. "Who are you," she whispered.

"At the Temple of the Moon, I am Roanna the Oracle.  In Camelot..." Roanna pointed the wand at herself and her image changed. She looked exactly like Faith but with long red hair curling to her waist.  "In Camelot, they call me Marian."

Faith laughed. "You're on a moon mission?"

"Exactly. So are you, actually.  And so is Noah." Marian changed her image back to that of Roanna. "Believe in him, Faith. Never let that support waver. He needs you more than ever. He's in a dark place and we all need to support him.  Have James help you. He will need you both.  I must go. Protect yourself, Faith. You have more power than you realize."

Just as the image of Roanna faded, a car screeched to a halt in front of her, headlights shimmering at her from the parking lot.

Nick Ransom burst from his car and came rushing toward her. "What did you tell them?" his words were angry, harsh. He yanked her toward him shoving a smelly rag against her face.  She could feel the fight slip out of her as the fumes from the cloth over took her senses rendering her helpless to an angry Nick Ransom.
