Chapter 7 : Robin-The Merlin - The Secret

Chapter 7 : Robin-The Merlin - The Secret

Nottingham 1121 A.D.

Far in the corner a man stood observing Faith, Jason and Arthur. He was about the same age as the other two men give or take a year or two. This observer had the uncanny ability to seem invisible when he wasn't. Robin was a Merlin, much in the same way Marian was. He learned from the actual Merlin when he was a child not long before the Merlin Society was created to continue his legacy of good works.

Oh, they had their bad seeds, what society didn't? But mostly they worked alongside the protector knights giving guidance and magical support.  People in the twenty-first century would call it manifesting.

There is a secret about magic that most don't realize. Magic is in everyone. If you have been following Faith's (aka Tori's) saga since the beginning you might remember her mentioning a node that lives inside all of us. That node is where all magic lies. It connects everything. That’s because that node is God. And in truth, all magic is God-inspired, God-infused  and God-made. I am kind of surprised no one has realized it before now. It’s not like anyone tried to keep it  a secret. Time just forgot and moved on. Some people try their best to discount magic, intuition or that gut feeling everyone gets. But that is all God too. God is everywhere and in everything.

Robin did have a secret he kept from everyone in Nottingham. He had worked with Marian since they were children. Back then they were companions, friends. Now that he was older he saw his feelings for what they were. He loved Marian. But Marian had always been focused on Jason Argon. They all were. All those women. That was probably why he’d gone to such drastic measures. He had subtly changed everything and no one really realized his manipulation.

The darkside of Marian had truly liked him and that was what had set off this chain reaction. He wanted her love but she was happy being friends. So, he did what he had to do and split them apart. One part of Marian was true north, always good, always kind, doing things for others. The other part was focused and cruel and on a mission to prove herself to the Merlin Society.

The only thing they could think to do with the good Marian was to hide her. The best place to do that was in plain sight. So they found a girl in the future who was about to meet her end and transferred the good Marian into her.

Little did he know that at some point they’d have to bring her back to fix a time mix-up. It really wasn't his choice. God was intervening and trying to bring everything back into balance. God was definitely on a rampage and pissed Robin had been able to deceive him so easily.

Now things had to play out. It was up to the fates really. But mostly it was up to Faith and Jason to save their own love story or lose it to time. The King Arthur and Gwen story was one of Robin’s most lasting tales. Too bad it wasn’t true. Not a lick of it. And the tale of Nottingham was the legacy of a hooded thief. The Protectors of the Realm were still sort of angry about being turned into a vigilante do-gooder when they were so much more important in God’s overall plan for humanity. But they weren’t the type to advertise their energetic services, so no one had ever discovered their secret… until now.
